We're probably at one of the most interesting itineraries that can be performed in the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park. The goal is to reach the peak of the “Heights Queen”, the Torrecilla (1919 meters), but the good thing about this route is that it’s not necessary to reach the peak to enjoy the route as it has several significant milestones of great beauty.

The starting point chosen is The Quejigales, which ascend to the Port of the Pilones by the Cañada del Cuerno, in this valley we will find a beautiful Spanish fir forest up to 1600 meters which gives way to the majestic Portuguese oaks. Already close to the Torrecilla, we will reach a flat area in which under a rock, we have a cold water source. From this point the only thing to do is to climb to the highest peak in the province of Málaga, the Torrecilla.

Route: Linear, there and back again.

Length: 16 kms the entire route, 10 kms the alternate route.

Difficulty: Medium - High.
